Mavic's Cosmic SLR 45 DCL wheelset combines low weight with aerodynamic 45mm rim height. The drive to reduce weight may be a universal obsession for every cyclist, but not every gram is created equal. A rotating mass requires additional kinetic energy to accelerate, meaning that rim weight directly correlates with snappy accelerations and out-of-the-saddle kicks. The disc wheels are equipped with high-quality hub technology and accommodate Center-Lock brake discs.

While tubeless wheels roll faster, they come with added weight and the hassle of a rim tape. In the quest for a lightweight solution with no compromise on rigidity, Mavic's engineers went back to the drawing board and came up with the new Cosmic SLR45 wheelset. 10% lighter and stronger than traditional wheel designs, Mavic's Fore Carbon Technology incorporates spokes that fit directly into a co-molded metallic insert that avoids the need to drill the upper rim bridge. This negates the need for rim tape, makes for easy repairs, and saves an additional 30g per rim.
